Blutiger Jupiter – Europa, is available as of January 27 on cassette and for download.
Even the non-reproducibility of improvised music in the context of the cultural industry, music that responds right here and right now to the conditions, is a political statement itself. As a label, we see ourselves confronted with obvious contradictions. Nonetheless, we documented the audio aspects of the Europa-Session.
These improvisations are impositions to the hearing habits in the largely calm waters of moden music. Especially, as in times of military foreclosure, the project Europe can only be encountered in disapproval. But Blutiger Jupiter don’t stop after destruction: their psychodelic outbreaks must be understood as a counter-concept to the trans-Europe-express beyond all limits.
Blutiger Jupiter are Julius Gabriel on sax, Fabian Jung on percussions, Constantin Herzog on bass and Florian Zwissler on organ and synthesizer. The musicians are restless, always-performers and members of the flourishing free jazz scene in the Rhein Ruhr area. Associated projects are Blemishes, The Dorf and Das Behälter.
